Understanding your search results
MLTSSL, STSOL, ROL and CSOL identify occupation lists used for different visa pathways. They are not rankings of an occupation’s value or of your chance of success. Check the list that applies to the particular visa and stream you are considering, together with any additional requirements.
The designated assessing authority examines whether your qualifications and experience meet its criteria for the occupation and assessment pathway. Its evidence requirements sit alongside the visa rules, so check both before preparing an application. The relevant authority or assessment requirement may differ by visa or occupation entry.
Your job title is a useful starting point, but it does not establish the correct occupation on its own. Read the description and typical tasks alongside your actual duties, level of responsibility and qualifications. Two employers may use the same title for quite different work.
